NITI Aayog to revamp Planning Commission

The Planning Commission are going to be replaced by a body known as NITI Aayog (National institution for transforming India) as a part of an idea to reconstitute the establishment, and like its predecessor, the Prime Minister will be the institution's chairman.

NITI Aayog can have a governing council comprising all Chief Ministers and Governors.

The decision comes months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that it'll get replaced by a brand new body.
